An air ambulance is a medically dedicated aircraft primarily used to transport critically injured or ill patients over long distances when other forms of transportation would be impossible, impractical or too great of a risk. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States, and a leading cause of serious, long-term adult disability.  It can happen to anyone, at anytime and at any age.
